Matoshri Anandashram
Senior citizens are the best supporting pillars of a family as well as the society. They guide everyone for their betterment, without expectations. But unfortunately, due to some natural calamities, or due to some family issues, they are forced to live alone. And this loneliness suddenly occurred at the twilight of life makes them depressed and helpless.
Matoshri anandashram welcomes these citizens and gives them a new ray of hope. It is actually an old age home, which fills the life of senior citizens with happiness. Therefore the name is changed to ‘Anandashram’.
‘Anandashram’ was formed in the year 1997. Now after the long journey of 22 years 50 grandparents are living happily here. Separate and comfortable accommodation as well as fresh and nutritious food is provided to all of them.
To fill their minds with happiness different types of devotional activities like bhajans, kirtans are specially arranged for them. Also various types of cultural programs, competitions, picnics are also there to fill the colours in their life.
The most beautiful and out of the box feature of anandashram is, these grandparents are adopted by the kids! Yes, it is something different from the traditional concepts or perceptions, but it is very much important for these senior citizens as their cravings for living with grandchildren is satisfied with this small action. Students from Vivekanand residential school, which is driven by Keshav Smruti Pratishthan adopt these senior citizens and spent quality time with them.
This newly built relationship between grandparents and grandchildren gives immense satisfaction to these oldsters and adds some happy moments to the rest of their life indeed!
